I agree
We use Symantec AV Corporate 10 at my office, and I now have to leave the systems on overnight when we need them to do a local disk scan. The newest systems are P4 2.8GHz, and even the users of these machines were about to riot because of the performance hit that they suffered when scanning. A typical disk which has just been imaged, and has no documents, cache, etc., to scan takes about a half hour for a full scan. Add the typical junk that users produce on local drives, and you could double that easily. During this time, the CPU is maxed out, the disk is thrashing, and it's not easy to get anything at all done. Unfortunately, our users don't have a couple of extra hours a week when they are working, but don't need the computer.
