There are reasons for that, you know....
While I neither own nor use a Mac, myself, I know a lot of Mac users, both long-time users and recent converts, home users and corporate users.

There's only one thing all of them seem to have in common: the more they use Macs, the less inclined they are to switch back to Windows.

Why is this? Frankly, I don't know--yet. For the same price as a 32-bit Mac Mini with 512 megs ram, an 80 gig hard drive, and a 4x DVDRW, I can build a 64-bit PC with 1 gig ram, a 200 gig hard drive, and a 16x DVDRW, so why would I want to switch?

I don't know, but I'm seeing a lot of people who ARE switching, so I'm going to buy that Mac Mini, run it, test it against that custom-built PC, and see if I can figure it out for myself.

It's called *the scientific method*, people, and I think I owe it to my clients--and to myself!--to find out by direct observation and experimentation *why* a growing number of people, IT professionals and home users alike, seem to be willing to pay more for what LOOKS LIKE so much less.
