Really too bad
Such a contest is not a joke.

I've watched some of the hack contests the last few years where a network is put up with various operating systems and security protocols installed and everyone is invited to break into it with a prize given to the first to gain control.

This contest for the MAC attack would have been just as good. Although nowhere near the market share or penetration, MAC is still an important and viable OS. Security testing is too important to hope for the best. And it's too late AFTER you find you've been hacked. Too bad they chickened out.
