They don't get the difference between possible vs actual
These guys just don't understand the issue, or they are
dishonest. Nobody of any importance thinks that it is not
possible to write a virus for OS X (or linux or VAX VMS). We all
know that its possible, the point is that OS X users don't have to
worry about viruses the way Windows users do. You could argue
about whether this is a result of differences in propagation
vectors for the two platforms, or just because there's no fame in
writing a Mac virus. The point is that there is a very real benefit
in not having to deal with virus issues on a day-to-day basis.
Demonstrating an actual virus or staging a "contest" to hack
Macs doesn't change that.
