Not a bad post!
If we ignore the childish use of "Windoze" and "M$", you were able to put together a pretty coherent post!

Today the company is struggling - they need to re-write their entire codebase, but that will either take forever - or a million programmers.

Apple was able to do this with OSX and I give them great credit for that. No, they didn't write an OS from scratch but they did completely replace their code base. I think the NT/2000/XP/2003 line is technically FAR better than the old MacOS was so Microsoft isn't in the same boat but if Apple could do it, maybe MS could too. I won't hold my breath though. happy
