Actually, being one of the world's largest corporations, with $50B in the bank, and the ability to hire the finest minds in the world to work there, what's pathetic is that any Microsoft product has ANY flaws whatsoever.

Shouldn't this "world class" software company have sufficient Q/A staff, automated testing procedures, and 200+ I.Q. security specialists to go through the code line by line, that really, pretty close to zero defects should slip out? I mean, so, throw one of your 50 billions at it: Shouldn't that pretty much eliminate the bugs?

And especially, after years of development time, wouldn't the I.E. code have been sorted out by now?

For whatever reason, as we all know, the answer is "no". Heck, I was running a flash intro on a web page earlier today and my fully patched, behind a firewall, virus protected, Ad-aware'd, Spy-botted, de-fragged, no hardware changed in at least two years, Win2K box blows up and dies and reboots itself.

Sorry, that just wouldn't happen on OSX, or I dare say linux. In a real O/S, applications don't crash the kernel, sorry. (I know, I know, all you NBM'ers, "I must be doing something wrong", huh? That's your standard answer. Don't blame the tool for being used as intended and failing; blame the user for using the tool as intended. Sigh.)


All that vs. Firefox where they've a paid staff of what, 10? 20? And a handful of volunteers, and they spend maybe ten grand to reward developers who find something. Yet, they're still able to compete against the above.

Doesn't that seem kind of strange?
