Gotta be root
How do you install RPMs without being root?

This is a good thing and helps Linux/Unix to avoid some of the goofy things that happen in Windows. Many, including me, enjoy the intergration of Windows but one of the unintended side effects is that apps can install with plain old user rights. Of course, many home users are admin (root) by default in the Windows model which accounts for many of the problems we see.
