I've been running several machines without problem for years. I have a Linux (Red-Hat), Win XP Home, and a Win 98 system. All are behind a NAT router.

I periodically scan my systems for virus and spyware; the Win 98 system seems more susceptable to rudimentary spyware, but nothing serious. It could also be the user of that box being younger and more willing to open things that should be left alone. Other than that, they're all stable. The Win XP home system and the Linux system have had pretty comparable up-time, without issues.
