Excellent Point

It's interesting to see how the two zealots go about their camps. "Macs suck because they don't have a market share", and "Windows sucks because it's insecure". The real point is that each have their advantages and disadvantages. Macs are more secure in the past because they were propietary and had little market share. They are more secure now because they have basically used a *nix (OpenBSD or FreeBSD, if I remember right) OS. Windows has the advantage of a broad user base and the greatest amount of applications out there, and is the quintessential gaming machine. Unix is the most secure out of all of them.

The_doge makes an excellent point. In the end, it comes down to the user. If there are patches for flaws out there, it's down to the user to install them, regardless of the OS. It comes down to the user to prevent phishing attempts, and any infections/spyware/etc. that may come from opening an unknown attachment.
