I thinks its when someone tries to trick you into giving out information.

Example: Someone will send you a bogus email saying they are from a company you do business with. The email will give you a link to a fake website which ask you for your password or some other information. The fake site will probably look exactly like the real site.

So you're thinking you're logging on to the real company's website but its actually designed to steal information from you.
