- I have another idea....
-
I imagine this machine was on a network, a server that was
connected to many terminals. I'm wondering, what the hell was
this network doing connected to the internet? I have a set of
production systems. They happen to be the life blood of my
shop. their not connected to the internet. Done deal. There's
also the possibility of it being an inside job. Then it wouldn't
matter.Although it would prove a much more daunting task to
get the data out. I have a feeling that the hacker probably sat
outside on a bench with a laptop, established a wi-fi connection
and went to town. Lame.
It doesn't cost a dime to pull the plug. I'm sure there's all sorts
of arguments that folks are going to throw at me about software
updates and availability, but there's really no excuse to have
such data one hop away from a gateway to the net. - Posted by: rob.astleford@... Posted on: 03/17/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
