Boston College reveals breach
Few people would have though Boston College was a major personal data collector. It looks like Sears and Wal Mart are also in that league. In fact an amazing number of organizations routinely collect personal data, with little or no regulation to oblige them to offer you any protection at all. Even when what they have collected is patently wrong and that causes you to suffer harm or if they share or sell it to any organization they feel like.

The fact is that personal data aren't considered an important item for most corporations to protect because they do not face criminal prosecution if they fail to protect them properly. So why should they bother? After all, the corporation suffers no harm and feels no pain.

So that's the bottom line - no pain, no gain.

Kind regards

Steve
