Flawed government execution.....

....is absolutely right. Until the Social Security Administration DEMANDS that NO COMPANY OR INDIVIDUAL (except the SSA) can use a person's SSN from you for ANY REASON, this kind of thievery will continue. I recently applied for a credit card from a home improvement chain store, and they told me point blank that, unless I provided them with my SSN, I could not get the card. This kind of policy should be illegal at the federal level. I'm SURE that this home improvement chain's computers will NEVER be raided by a virus... it keeps me awake at night just thinking about it....
