Business should consider costs if they don't clamp down...
Because of ongoing privacy leaks, I no longer apply for any credit, fill out any sort of application unless absolutely mandatory, don't purchase various optional insurance and limit the companies I applied for jobs because of background/credit checks (conduits for your information to get out). I also mostly use cash for transactions.

Companies are losing the trust of more and more consumers which will end up costing them future business. Companies should realize they may have a FIDUCIARY relationship which some customers and should consider the custody of their customers privacy the most important concern.
