Bots use IRC channel - this has nothing to do with IIS.

And of the three machines they tested - two were dial up, one was connected to broadband (so why the scare line of Always On Connections being evil? Who knows or cares). And of course, none of the honeypots were behind NAT routers, or using any kind of firewall at all.

So like - Dude - may be that the salad days of Linux is Secure might be going away. But But But, I have Linux - I never log in as root - oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..........my GIMP now limps, my GNU got gored, my Gentoo is only good as a lean-to.....

Oh, BTW. The code seems to also be written in C or C++ - this sure ain't no VBA script kiddy crud. Seems these guys know what they are doing, as the report had a lot of respect for the quality of the code.
