Putting it into "car" context.
You buy a new corvette.

Corvette users are discovered to be speeding more than non corvette owners so the next time you start your corvette you are informed that it has been automatically updated to have a maximum speed of 70 mph in the united states. This was months after you bought it and paid top dollar for it.

Furthermore, they have instituted a $1 a day "driving" charge which will be automatically deducted from your credit card. If you fail to pay the charge, your corvette will stop working at the end of the month.

Who would buy a corvette under those conditions? Why would anyone buy music under those conditions?
