No they won't

The software producers will NOT have paid licencing fees. And I will STILL expect it to work. If not, I will say goodbye to that hardware maker.

I refuse to live in a world where a simple programmer must pay a tax to get his program to work. I will simply change my hardware to one that makes no such hard requirements.

Now if this is just a BIOS setting that means OS #1 needs the setting to be on to boot while OS #2 needs it to be off to boot, that I can live with. It'll be a pain if I want to dual boot, but I can live with it. But if this is a setting that permanently prevents OS #2 from booting, and OS #2 happens to be my OS, then that hardware company has lost a customer. Unless they can sell me hardware that boots OS #2 but not OS #1 as well. Of course that will prevent all dual booting between #1 and #2, but I can live with that.
