Content guys would like to think this is anti-piracy but this is just too easy to bypass. Relying on this for anti-piracy would be silly.

For example: Lets say your buddy buys DVD movie XYZ and it locked down to his PC. He give you a copy but it won't work. Just download the Torrent with no DRM and away you go. All it takes 1 pirate to put it out there. If the file is DRM free the system has no problems.

Better yet you just download software that ripps the DVD with out DRM.

DRM is a joke being sold to content companies by snake oil salesmen. In the end all it does cause prices for us to go up which leads to more piracy. It's a vicious cycle were DRM software guy are laughing all the way to the bank.
