What he means really that
Two-factor authentication will fail because current infrastructure actually propagates username and password token generated locally by two-factor authentication . This is much better then simple password , but still vulnerable as he correctly says . But if one can replace this infrastructure with new one that performs authentication match (multi-factor) at the Internet Portal side . This will solve the security leaks raised in the article .
