- The usual predictable flurry of auto-denial from the MS apologists
-
This is a WIndows problem.
"An analysis of the traffic captured by the German Honeynet Project shows that most traffic targets the ports used for resource sharing on machines running all versions of Microsoft's Windows operating system
...
Further research with tools such as Nmap, probe2 and p0f reveal that machines running Windows XP and 2000 represent the most affected software versions."
There is a clear pattern discernible on ZDnet. Although a lot of tech stories which are negative to Windows never actually appear on ZDnet (or appear days later), the ones that do attract a little flurry of hard core apologists. Now Linux is not a corporate entity, home users are free to get their OS from any one of dozens of sources. Which is why the accusations of "Linux Zealots" is a clear astro-turfer ploy. People who are enthusiastic about an OS developped by hundreds of thousands of people, in collaboration, are not pushing a corporate agenda. Whereas the predicatable Windows apologists - would these people brag they used faulty cars and slated off anyone who didn't? Would these people buy mouldy, virus infested food and then go on a list and defend the producers, again slating off anyone who chose not to eat expensive, worm infested pap? No, there is an ongoing agenda whereby monied corporations contine to pay people to extol the virtues of a demonstrably inferior product, whenever another one of that products weaknesses is exposed.
To close, here's a story that STILL hasn't made it on to ZDnet as I write .... Microsoft, who stole Burst.com's streaming video technology, who then "innovated" that technology into Windows and trumpeted their stolen code as another Windows innovation, have just settled out of court for $60 billion. You see, commited thieves and purveyors of shoddy software will stoop as low as they are allowed to go, in their efforts to make sure your PC is an infected virus propagaor, through the power of their monopoly.
Trustworthy computing? hahahahahahahahahah!!!
