i have noticed with selinux that if the files arent relabeled when you change the owner, they are inaccessible until labeled properly. also directories have the option to allow viewing, reading/writing to/from... change my -rw-rw-r-- to drwxrwxr-- for user and group to view and change into the dir etc and not other/anon users. i havent checked into the acl thing you mentioned, but then im still kinda low on the linux rungs. i learn what i need as i need it. then if i find some new (or old) feature along the way, i learn some about it so if it becomes something i may find useful i can add it to my list of fmtr.
