i like how linux has separate rwx permissions for each type of user: user, group, all so if you want to be the only one to be able to read and write a file, give read access to someone in your group but no access to any other user, you would set the mod to 640 (-rw-r----) and if theyre not in your group of users, they get a denied error. same with execute... 750 (-rwxr-x---) or set it so all can read it and only you can write it 644 (-rw-r--r--). i like that ability. windows might have it, but i just use it for games anyway
