There is a difference. You have to look up the definition in a Jargon-specific dictionary.

I mean, pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovulcanoconiosis may not be found in every English dictionary but will be found in a Medical English dictionary.

Yes, it is a word but will not fit on a scrabble board so it isn't a very useful word wink .
