"bereft of Windows users" Not really.
I use Windows, sparingly, but I do use Windows. Read closely the posts and it is easy to pull out the trolls that have never seen another OS except in an ad. Then there are zealots followed by the casual users. There are also the pure tech folks here also. They are all here just not posting (yet) in this particular story.

"If this site is supposed to attract technical users then it's missed the target."

That also is not true. I am a small business owner. I read and postback in the forums because I actually have learned from the various participants, yes even in ZDNET one can learn. Serious question here and I promise not to flame, "Would you prefer I not post?" I will anyway but I was wondering.

I was flamed once by a self described "tech" because ZDNET forums were (in his words) for IT people. Look at the ZDNET logo at the top of the page, I told him, it says "Where Technology Means Business." I found it interesting that this clown also complained about the lack of knowledge on the users part keep systems secure.

Anyway I am business, in that I own my business. I have met some great techs in the field of Windows, Linux, UNIX, OSX you name it in this forum who have guided me and answered question as long as I stayed on topic. As I have said I have met some bassholes also. I read ZDNET and the forums because they do provide a news service to keep me informed. I post from the viewpoint of an owner and cusotmer and you could say a technical user. I learned how to compile the Linux Kernal from a tech in the forum. Yep techies are here.
