And why not?

And why exactly is that? While I completely agree that it is utterly stupid in this "PR contest" to make oneself appear as a criminal to "the public", I don't see where you get the ethical justification for your claim.

If countries can wage war on other countries, if a government can wage war on other countries, and in part it's own, citizens, and if a company can wage war on a community of individuals, why can the individidual not wage war on a company?

In the end, today's terrorists may be tomorrows heroes (cf. The Founding Fathers, or the founders of Israel). Okay, this is pushing the analogy a little too far, but my point is - ethics don't work in the "I think it's wrong therefore it is" way that you seem to follow. Ever thought that your moral values might be wrong? Ever even thought that there may not be a clearly defined right or wrong with moral values in the first place?
