To do it reasonably fast...
Would be a real winner of an idea. Peeking at the top and bottom of a file is easy and livable in time required. But to comb though the files is another matter altogether.

Try copying the entire contents of your hard drive to another drive on your system and see how long it takes just to read and write the files, now imagine combing through them as you do it. See the problem? If they have a good way to do this quickly, a patent is probably well deserved.
