Read the "Patriot" Act
You will never know if there is a warrant issued and anyone who tells you about it could be imprisoned. This was designed to catch terror suspects. Secret courts issue secret warrants and you or I could be the target. Of course, many will say the intent is for terror prevention, I am all for that, but why did the legislation not spell that out? As currently written, the gov't can secure a secret warrant to investigate you for ANY percieved crime it thinks you committed. Anyone who notifies you of this secret investigation is committing a crime in the New America.

Here's an interesting fact from EPIC in referencing a recent Congressional report on the subject:

The report shows that 2003 was the first year ever that more secret surveillance warrants were granted than federal wiretap warrants, which are issued only under a more stringent legal standard. The PATRIOT Act significantly expanded the government's authority to make use of secret surveillance, including in circumstances where part of the investigation is unrelated to an intelligence investigation. The report also reveals that a small number of applications for secret surveillance were denied in 2003 for the first time ever.

Read it and contact your elected reps if you think this could be improved. Thanks.
