Passwords need not be replaced ... but simply augmented
Financial institutions need to step up to the plate and start using SecureID. If this solution were massively deployed the cost would plummet. But passwords are fine for most applications. In the case of eCommerce for example, as long as consumer credit is not involved, tight security is really overkill. But anything that touches consumer credit should be protected by a SecureID type device, in ADDITION to a password.
