Securing the clients - or the servers?
Anything connected to a client machine can ONLY authenticate to that client. Unfortunetly, once you are logged onto the client, you can access the SERVER which CANNOT use these biometric thingies. Any authentication on the client will be transmitted to the server in simple bits and bytes - which can ALWAYS be duplicated/cracked by someone. You could use a SECOND password/combo/thingie to log in to a server, but people NEVER EVER EVER want to memorize TWO passwords - especially since they have to change BOTH every 90 days or so . . .
You can secure all the doors to the apartment complex, but you still don't know who broke the washing machine . . .
