I don't work for a credit agency
And your post doesn't actually address the problems I discussed. Sure there are ways to get preapproved for credit. It doesn't change the fact that it is going to dramatically increase the cost of credit. Do you really think that CitiBank, MBNA, Bank of America, etc are going to rewrite their software for free? Do you think they are going to hire the additional support staff that would be necessary to handle the calls for free? This has nothing to do with inefficiency, this has to do with taking a system which handles billions of transactions a day automatically and adding human intervention into every one.
