What should be automatic
is the big 3 credit reporting agencies should automatically assume everyone is on what they call "fraud alert". You can call and have docs sent to you to put yourself on fraud alert. Under the fraud alert, your address could not simply be changed, in fact, if anyone tries to apply for a loan using your ID, the approval is process is paused until you authorize it. Why they don't just do this for everyone, automatically, is beyond me.
