- That may be true.

However, as it has been so excellently stated over and over again, NO OS is totally secure unless it's locked in a lead box with no cables connected to it.
What governments need to realize is that security starts at the user level and progresses to the upper levels.
I see too many lusers ready to click on anything that enters their inbox. Also, there are too many ladmins out there that have no idea of the proper procedures for securing a network. I mainly blame M$ for this.
Before anyone starts in on me, please hear me out... M$ has the EASIEST certification exams bar none. It's very easy to study a book and then go in and pass a M$ test. I should know because I have done it and had several people I know that can hardly plug in a power cord do it.
Until the Corporate world stops putting emphasis on Degrees and Certificates, and starts choosing IT personnel that have pratical as well as theoretical experience, this will continue to happen, and nothing M$ or anyone else does will be able to stop it because the problem is NOT PLATFORM DEPENDENT! - Posted by: bhanes@...
