Any way you look at it, this is bad.
This could cause major problems. Microsoft can say it was because people did not patch their systems, but still reflects badly on Microsoft. People with Linux will not have any problems here. Microsoft is starting to realize that when customers do not apply patches, for whatever reason, it still reflects badly on Microsoft. The continous stream of patches is a problem in and of itself.
