nah, as an isp, we know...

when your email address is used in a way that someone sends an email and it bounces it goes to you, that doesnt mean we think its you. try this, in your email properties, set the reply to address or even your email address to your friends email address. send an email to somedomain@notexistingdomain.net and it will bounce to him. saying it was sent by him.
heres the clinker. go into the properties for said email message and look at the transaction script of recieved by... notice the ip addresses. usually the top entry is the last server to get the message and the lowest message is the first. thats the originating address and usually your ip addy.

this is what we look at when an email is forwarded to our abuse. but the message has to have headers or it cant be tracked. usually people get shut off from the net because we get reports of scanning and such from honey pot systems that send us 'unusual activity' logs and we look up who was connected on the reported ip number at the reported time. then we block that person.
