You want regulation - fine, here is what the industry response will be
If you want to regulate how our software performs in the various configurations that people have, then we get to certify what hardware combinations are guaranteed to work with our software.

Only Intel chips of 2.x GHz or better, Crucial RAM, ASUS motherboards, GeForce video cards, Creative sound cards, USB 2.0, etc.

If you are using a combination of any other items not on our tested and guaranteed to work list, then we cannot verify that your combination will work with our software and we will not warranty it for use on your system.

Sorry, you want a guarantee from us, we want to specify what we will guarantee it will work on. Anything else is unsupported and not guaranteed - use at your own risk.
