I vote with you
that the industry has not worked well. Although I hear a lot of drivial about inovation, fact is the software industry builds on itself the way al other area build. Then, congress is slowly tightening that noose you speak of with various pieces of legalesse.

Do regs really stop inovation? Didn't inovation cause so many problems we now worry about regualting controls which should have been in place to begin with? Isn't an uncontroled environment merely a lab looking for an experiment? My take is we are the uncontrolled lab and we will be regulated in fact, if not outright.

Do we put Bill Gates in jail?
