One nit to pick
One nit to pick in your article. The USS PUEBLO was never characterised as a "fishing boat" and was not manned by CIA agents. It was a U.S. Navy vessel, clearly identified as such and was crewed by U.S. Navy officers and crew. It is a fact that the only things available then to destroy secret equipment and documents were lead-weighted bags, sledgehammers and fire axes. But then we didn't have any computers on board then either. Secret documents were paper.
