on my home computers i dont have any anti-virus or spyware, and have never, not once, ever gotten a virus or been infected by spyware.

granted i know more than most home user, however 99.99999 percent of all malware is completely preventable. Do you consider not being able to read "severe tire damage do not backup" shoddy workmanship by the car maker?

In the end it always comes down to the end user.
