Silly
People are just silly when it comes to credit cards.

They fear using it on the internet but at the same time have no fear handing it out to complete stranger at restaurants where a minimum wage worker takes there card to the till, beyond the customers sight.

Personally for me I find the internet a much safer location to use my credit card. Some simple steps can be taken to make it even more safe. Get a credit card specifically for net purchase and have the bank set the credit limit to a low amount. If you use the card to buy books set it to $500. Base it off your purchasses. Now put insurance on that card. Make sure to pay off any debt on the card. I use transfers to my line of credit to do this if I don't have the cash. Having a balance of zero makes unauthorized charges easier to spot.

In restuarants I never give my credit card to server. I always take the card up to the till. That way I can keep an eye on the card. It's much hard to write down a card number if you have the customer staring at you.
