Very interesting.
I is interesting that you feel a need to categorize your self as someone who is not stupid by stating that you have an IQ of 130. As impressive as you surely hope that will be, really doesn't help. In my opinion IQ tests are generally a measure of the how you absorbed the culture in which you developed than actual intelligence. An interesting aside is that as the proportion of people with higher scores are savants.

I can support my claim about culture, in that I have taken tests prepared in England, in the USA and abstract tests which use very little cultural content. I do fairly well with tests prepared in my native England and less well with those prepared in the USA, however I have done best with abstract tests. Culture not only changes on geographic location but also with time. For many of us we stay fixed first with our geographic and then our generational culture.

Your professed difficulty with Linux is not so much an intelligence problem perhaps is's a generational problem. Maybe it's not the arrogance of the Linux community you are having difficulty with but the arrogance of being an old fogy.

The answer is Microsoft did it already and called it windows.

There are maybe ten or more OS's I could name, some are easy to use some are much harder to use than Linux could ever be. As a matter of fact IBM created OS/2 which as an operating system was superior to anything MS created probably until W2k and I'm so sure about that. From what you say you may be better suited to using a Mac.
