You don't know Linux
Obviously, the poster is making an uninformed and ingorant comment.

The key thing to be aware of is that there are different *distributions* of Linux, each with their appropriate application. Red Hat, Suse or Gentoo can be a real pain for an untrained user to get working. They are NOT meant for people w/o knowledge of their distributions.

If you're going to compare desktop Windows to Linux, you need to compare to easy-to-use distributions meant for end-users, such as Mepis, Ubuntu, Knoppix, etc.

Saying that Red Hat Enterprise Linux isn't easy to use for the desktop is like saying that an 18-wheeler truck sucks for Soccer-Moms. Yea, it may be true, but it's not an appropriate comparison.

While Linux works wonderously for Ebay, Amazon, Orbitz, and so many others, you wouldn't say that Monta Vista's Linux distro, made for Smartphones and embedded devices, sucks for Amazon. It's simply not an appropriate association.
