And the MS contribution to the security debate
"Companies that want to have a high assurance that an
attack hasn't resulted in a security weakness will have to
audit the code themselves, said Greg Wood, general
manager of information security for Microsoft..."

Why Greg? We have at least the same level of assurance as
binaries from MS just by listening to the advice of the
distributions themselves that have studied the attack and
compared code with the same code stored on their own
AND other servers.

What magic software source management tool does MS own
that provides a higher level of assurance? Certainly nothing
they've release to the market. We know MS source servers
have been compromised in the past as well.

Greg highlights that users that need the very highest level
of assurance can audit the code themselves, because unlike
MS products full source code is available.
