Hey Jeff, check this out:
BTW, I recently got a Mac mini. Wow. That is the easiest machine I've EVER set up.
I was all set for it to ask something about the network. Nope, it just worked.
Pop a DVD in, it just works. No drivers, no loading extra software... wow.
DV camcorder, just worked.

Now you have got to check this out:
If you can, get yourself an old Pentium 200 (fastest you can get that's fanless) or so, and an IDE2CF card ... $15.
Now put Puppy Linux on a CF card. 64meg should do it, or 128Meg. $5 worth in any case.
It's not so easy to figure out how to make a Puppy Linux flash card. But when you do, it's easy.
I might try to email the guy some easier set up instructions.. (if I can remember how).
Most programmers know that programs written in C++ are just about always much more massive than stuff written in C. So the guy behind Puppy Linux originally only had C programs on the card. He's put Firefox on now slightly breaking that policy, but nevertheless, the distro is still absolutely tiny!
Try it and be amazed! This would be way cool on a mini-itx board from www.mini-itx.com (or lin-itx.com).
