Microsoft left out one step
"Microsoft continues to recommend customers evaluate the Microsoft AntiSpyware beta and encourage customers to follow the three steps to help keep your PC protected (at) www.microsoft.com/protect."

One page linked to in the quote above they have three steps to protecting yourself:

(1)Use an internet firewall (good)
(2)Get computer updates (good)
(3)Use Up-To-Date Antivirus Software (good)

Unfortunately, they left out the most important step:

(4)Don't use our web browser
