so what?
this dude obviously doesnt care about the points at hand. i mean he started a discussion about traffic law and crap while the story is about some people causing a very little bit of small time warfare against some scammers. i think we are arguing whether or not his analogy holds true.
ive done the same thing (as this article represents) when i find hack attempts on my server (www.linuxoverwindows.com/denied.php) where i didnt do a DoS or PoD but i would nmap the hell out of them if i happened to be logged into the server checking logs and saw active attempts at the time. nmap and 10000 pings in a few seconds. i had one host actually drop but the others usually keep on trucking. so in the article (it didnt say if they actually brought down the 8 banks) but if they are on a strong enough connection and there werent enough people going gta on their a55 then it didnt really do much as in my case.
