I don't think the revolution just started up one day out of the blue. It was only after years of being opressed and ignored that George and buddies sought a new way to get Britian's attention. Revolution is usually a last resort, given the consequence of failure at it.

If these guys could demonstrate that they made every effort to the police, governement, prosecutors, etc, to be involved in shutting down these sites before they decided to take matters into their own hands, then the analogy fits well.
