I have to disagree...
The facts of the matter are:

1) The internet was invented in the US, by the US government.

2) The language of business, money, and power is English, and that is because the US speaks English.

If the shoe was on the other foot, and say that the German language was the predominant language, I would be learning German, just as English is a REQUIRED class in schools in most countries, and it is required for good reason.

I further suggest, as time rolls slowly on, the common global language will eventually be English, and everyone worldwide will be using it as their primary language.

Only time will tell, but, that is what I see happening, it has been happening for over 200 years, and I assume will continue happening till everyone speaks a common language.
