Why don't the same standards apply?
The "feature" of being able to easily run email attachments was completely abused and pretty much everyone now recognizes this as a "flaw". The result? It is now much more difficult to run attachments. If this "feature" of including other character sets in URLs leads to widespread phishing then it is a flaw too and must be removed. Tough luck to anyone who doesn't use English because, after all, security must always come before useability, right?

I'm glad that it is now more difficult to execute email attachments but let the same standards apply whether the flaw is an MS "innovation" or someone else's. This is a flaw, plain and simple.
