SuSE has a couple options you can use
1 - Auto update: Scans your system and looks for apps that are installed and compares it to the security patch list. If you have a match then a little icon on your task bar changes from green to red and notifies you that there are patches available. Then you open Yast and start the process.

2 - You can fire up Yast and see what matches manually.

3 - You can go to the patch page and look at each package yourself and decide to download and install.

Either method allows you the ability to read what the patch fixes, what the potential for exploit is, what type of exploit can be used and the level of severity. Depending on the patch / application affected, it will also include libraries as well as the patch to each file modified along with the file name.

By bundling I think they mean they will group a series of patches together at one time. So when you go to the page using Yast you may see more than one.

Bottom line, the information is there, the ability to determine if it affects you or not is there. Open eyes and read.

By far I would have to say that of all the distros I have tried, SuSE has one of the best update tools around for RPM based systems.
