Its not MS fault
I am sick of people blaming Microsoft for other people making spyware, viruses, and exposing security flaws. Do you think if Linux or any other of the "Alternative OSes" was the most used by PC users that these same people wouldn't be attempting to do the same thing with them. It is like saying Guns Kill people. No People kill people. If you people think that you can do a better job in writing an OS that does not have vulnerabilities then go ahead. Besides people creating these malicious items for Windows makes me money because I get to fix them and since most of the time I do a restore of the OS and software its a pretty easy fix for some $$$. A business should have an IT staff smart enough to make sure these things don't happen and if they do be able to attend to them right away before they cause any real damage. So say what you want about Microsoft and Windows, but I have not seen a better alternative. My Windows XP machines all run fine and I have very little trouble with them because I am not cheap and invest in good Antivirus software, Firewall, and make sure I do not careless browse the internet to get infected with these malicious things.
